Notes from Our NYC FW26 Buying Trip
There’s a moment in New York — standing in a showroom, surrounded by racks of beautiful pieces — when everything starts to look good. And that’s exactly when clarity matters most. Because anyone can buy inventory. Not everyone can build style.

Our recent trip to NYC for Fall/Winter 2026 wasn’t about chasing trends or selecting what will simply “sell.” It was about something far more intentional — choosing pieces that align with how our customers actually live, dress, and want to feel.
At L + J, we don’t follow the traditional retail model. We don’t rely on constant promotions or markdown cycles to create demand. Because when everything is always on sale… nothing feels special. Instead, we focus on curation.
Every piece we select has to earn its place:
It must elevate your wardrobe
It must integrate effortlessly with what you already own
It must feel current
but never disposable
This is why we buy in very limited quantities. Sometimes just three pieces of a style.Sometimes one per size. Rarely more than six total. Not as a constraint — but as a commitment.
It ensures that what you wear feels considered, personal, and distinctly yours. It also means we stand behind every piece we bring in — fully. No backup plan of discounting. No second tier of “just in case.” Only pieces we believe in from the start.
Because at the end of the day, we’re not here to sell you more. We’re here to help you build a wardrobe that feels like you — refined, effortless, and entirely your own.
(And sometimes, it’s the smallest pieces that transform that wardrobe the most…)
L + J Pop of Trend: The SS26 Sunglasses & Scarf Effect
This season, the most transformative pieces in your wardrobe aren’t the most obvious ones. They’re the finishing touches.
Spring/Summer 2026 introduces a shift toward “outfit transformers” — accessories that redefine a look instantly, without requiring a full outfit change. Leading the way: silk scarves and statement sunglasses. Not as afterthoughts. But as an intention.
The Return of the Silk Scarf
The silk scarf has reemerged as one of the most refined accessories of the season — styled with ease, not excess. It’s less about nostalgia and more about modern polish.
How It’s Being Worn Now
The Neckerchief — tied close to the neck for a clean, understated finish
The Bandana Fold — worn as a soft triangle, tucked into shirting or layered under a blazer
The Effortless Layer — adding movement, color, or contrast to neutral dressing
Beyond the Expected
What defines this trend is its versatility. These pieces move with you:
Styled as a top with denim for warm days
Worn as a headband alternative for a softer look
Wrapped around a handbag handle for a subtle detail
Used as a belt accent to break up a silhouette
It’s not just styling — it’s re-styling.

Our favorite ways to wear them:
With a crisp white shirt and tailored blazer for a refined pop
Paired with knits to introduce texture and contrast
With denim and a tee to elevate everyday simplicity
Wrapped onto your bag for an unexpected finish

Why It Matters
In a season where wardrobes are becoming more intentional, these pieces allow you to:
Do more with what you already own
Refresh familiar outfits without overcomplicating
Add personality in a way that feels effortless
Sometimes, the smallest shift creates the biggest impact.

Editor’s Note
At L + J, everything begins with intention.
Each piece you see in-store has been chosen not just for how it looks — but for how it lives within your wardrobe. How it moves with you. How it becomes part of your everyday, your occasions, your moments.
We believe style isn’t built all at once. It’s layered — thoughtfully, season by season. And while trends may inspire, it’s the way you make them your own that defines everything.
Our role is simply to guide, to refine, and to bring you pieces that feel as personal as they do elevated.
